Eligibility & Program Details
To protect the children we serve and ensure support reaches those who need it most, every orphan application is reviewed against the criteria below before a child is listed for sponsorship.
Child Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an orphan (mother or father has passed away)
- Family income must fall below the poverty threshold in the child's country of residence
- No wealthy family members willing or able to provide financial support
- Child must be between 6 and 12 years old
- Must be currently enrolled, or planning to enroll, in an affiliated educational institution
Country Eligibility & Poverty Thresholds
Age range and the monthly household income threshold are set per country and reviewed by SN Foundation.
Required Documents
- Proof of orphan status (death certificate of the deceased parent)
- Household income verification
- School enrollment confirmation
Sponsorship Benefits
- Monthly living allowance covering basic living expenses
- Clothing support as needed
- Educational expenses — school fees, books, supplies, uniforms, and other education-related costs
Application & Review Process

Application submission
An affiliated organization submits an orphan application on the child's behalf, including required supporting documents.

Eligibility & background review
SN Foundation Admin reviews the application against eligibility criteria and verifies submitted documents.

Public profile listing
Once approved, the child's profile is published to the Looking for a Sponsor listing using a system-assigned avatar and alias only.
- 4
Sponsorship & ongoing support
A sponsor selects the child and begins sponsorship. The affiliated organization submits ongoing academic and financial reports.
