He was an orphan. Then He gave him shelter.

Be the shelter
for a child who
has none.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lost his father before he was born and his mother at six. Allah sheltered him, then commanded him never to turn an orphan away. From $25 a month you become that shelter for one verified child — school fees, meals, medicine, and someone who checks in.

أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَىٰ

Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter?

Why orphans

Why the orphan
comes first

The Qur'an returns to the orphan again and again — not as a suggestion, but as a measure of faith itself.

Surah Al-Ma'un asks who denies the Day of Judgement, and answers: the one who pushes the orphan away (107:1–3). Righteousness, Surah Al-Baqarah says, is giving from wealth you love — to relatives, to orphans, to the needy (2:177). And when the Companions asked how to handle orphans' affairs, the answer was direct: whatever is best for them (2:220).

The Prophet ﷺ said the best home among the Muslims is one where an orphan is treated well, and the worst is one where an orphan is wronged.
Sunan Ibn Majah 3679

We take that literally. Every child here is verified through a local partner, and every sponsor sees what their support actually did.

01

Verified, not assumed

Each child is nominated by a registered local partner, with guardianship and need documented and reviewed before a profile goes live.

02

Named, not numbered

You sponsor a specific child. You get their name, their school, their progress, and their letters.

03

Dignity, not dependence

Support is built around education and health, so the child eventually needs no sponsor at all.

Waiting for a sponsor

Children awaiting
a sponsor

Each profile is verified by a partner organisation before it appears here. Specificity is what converts: a name, an age, an ambition, and an exact monthly figure will outperform any appeal built on scale.

How it works

Three groups,
one mission

For orphans

Eligible children apply through an affiliated local organisation, which verifies guardianship and need.

Eligibility criteria
For sponsors

Choose a child, set up monthly support, and follow their schooling and health through quarterly reports.

Sponsor a child
For organisations

Schools and orphanages apply to become verified partners and submit children for sponsorship.

Not everyone wants a monthly commitment, and not every need fits one. These are live projects with a defined scope, a real budget, and a completion report at the end. Each one states plainly whether your zakat can be used for it.

Zakat

Your zakat is
eligible here

Allah names eight categories of people to whom zakat may be given, beginning with the poor and the needy. Orphaned children living in poverty fall squarely within them.

  • Select Zakat at checkout and your donation is held in a separate, ring-fenced fund.
  • Not a cent of it pays for salaries, this website, or fundraising.
  • It goes to the direct needs of eligible children: food, medical care, school fees, shelter.
  • Our administration is funded entirely by general sadaqah and by donors who choose to cover operations on purpose.

Charity that keeps
giving after you're gone

The Prophet ﷺ said that when a person dies their deeds stop, except three: ongoing charity, knowledge that continues to benefit others, and a righteous child who prays for them.
Sahih Muslim 1631

Ongoing charity

The giving continues in the life it built long after the last payment clears.

Beneficial knowledge

An education does not stop working. It carries into every year that follows.

A child who prays

A child who knows that someone, somewhere, chose them.

For organisations

Affiliated
organisations

Every child on this platform is put forward by an institution that already houses, feeds and teaches them. If that describes your organisation, you can bring your students here and let sponsors cover their costs directly.

Step 01

Apply

Submit your organisation against the eligibility criteria. Registration documents, safeguarding policy and student records are reviewed.

Step 02

Get verified

Background and site checks. On approval your organisation is formally affiliated with SN Foundation and listed publicly.

Step 03

Open your dashboard

Manage your organisation profile, staff access, student roster, and the financial and academic records for every sponsored child.

Step 04

Submit students

Nominate orphan students already enrolled or due to enrol. Each application is independently verified before any profile goes public.

Step 05

Report quarterly

Academic results, welfare notes and a financial statement for each sponsored student, every quarter, to the sponsor and to SNF.

Between steps four and five: an approved student appears in Children awaiting a sponsor, then moves to Children already covered the moment someone commits. Sponsors can support any number of students, and manage payments and correspondence from their own account.

Eligibility
criteria

Preliminary requirements. Meeting all seven does not guarantee approval — every applicant is verified independently before affiliation.

  • Is a recognised educational, charitable or community-based organisation
  • Works directly with orphaned or underprivileged children
  • Meets the SN Foundation education standard
  • Can verify and document every student it puts forward
  • Agrees to submit regular academic and financial reports
  • Adopts SN Foundation's child protection and transparency policies
